True... but isnt the zotac card the "balls to the wall" gtx 1080?

The performance difference will be minimal and depending on luck of the draw... that cheaper Palit might even overclock more than the Zotac.

I'd get the new one... the Zotac fan isn't even that quiet to warrant the extra money.

The only ones worth a price premium are EVGA and Gigabyte.

Don't agree about the Zotac fan, did you have a Pascal Extreme as ive not heard any complaints?

However, wouldn't get any B grade as the warranty's a bit grey and the cheaper Palit gets you GOW too.

It's not terrible... noise-wise it's about on-par with the reference cooler.

The EVGA is the best IMO with the Gigabyte second... for noise... even if some other coolers might have slightly better temps under full load.

The Zotacs have a more penetrating sound that travels further and through more layers of the case when everything's closed up.

It's still a decent option, don't get me wrong... but after trying many brands... I find EVGA the best for stock coolers (and warranty).

The Zotac and Palit have similar noise profiles.

Hey Crinkles, had a pair of the Zotac Extremes (before one let go and I switched to a pair of FTWs) and I have to say the sound profile of the Zotacs were slightly better :)

Not a great deal in it, but noticeable. Should be tbh, the bloody heatsink is MASSIVE!!! Don't believe any of this 2.5 slot nonsense, was a proper 3 slotter!!!!

It's more about when the fan actually spins up... rather than how long it takes to do so... I find the EVGA & Gigabyte noises more tolerable as they're a lower frequency... Zotac is more of a whine.

Tbf to the Zotac cards I found the 2 of them in SLi to be comparable to a single FE Edition at around 70% fan speed (the top Zotac was around 70% from memory at about 82c, the bottom one much less). To say I was damned impressed was an understatement

We both know how hot SLi can be!!!

Yup... an horrific 30C under load at the moment ;)

Well OK... 28C with fans turned up and 37C with fans on my quiet profile of 20-25% and pump on 25% ;)

Even with 4.4GHz on CPU & 2000/10000 on both GPUs... the fans & pump never spin up... it's only 4.5GHz that really dumps a load of heat into the loop.
