Will there be an triple channel DDR boards for AM3 processors?

Will there be an tri-channel DDR3 boards for AM3 processors? I'm planning on replacing my AM2 rig soon but will hang fire if tri-channel is on its way. I assume there's no reason why AMD can't use tri-channel is there? I also assume it's 1.5 x as good as dual channel?

Nope. Trichannel is not a feature of the motherboard, but the memory controller which is on the CPU itself in this case.


Besides, real-world gains from tri-channel are pretty much nonexistant for most things.
