Hi, I currently have

Team Group 8Pack Edition 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C16 3600MHz Dual Channel Kit

Which I currently use the XMP profile for. Works great. But I'm looking to go to 64GB because of Flight sim 2024s requirements.

Will this play nice with what I have?

Seems to be the "same" except mine is c16 and this stuff is C18. everything else the same, even looks the same.​

The newer one doesn't say anything about Samsung b-die, so not sure what the chips they use are, or if they're single rank.

I very much doubt you'll be able to just fit them, enable XMP and forget, but you do have a modern CPU, so you never know.

are they my "best bet"? or better going with something else?
 
4 sticks are fine with Zen 3, those sticks are probably not the same b die as @Tetras stated, it will probably work though if you enable XMP and just manually adjust the primary timings to 18-22-22-42 if it doesn't do so automatically.

Looks like the B-die version you have already has been discontinued and replaced by these ones so mixing could create some issues, the version you have does come on MM now and again so it could be worth making a wanted post to see if anyone has them going spare.

They will work with 4 DIMM modules but usually at a much slower speed - if you look at the motherboard manual, it will tell you what speed the RAM will run at with 2 and 4 DIMM slots populated.



Don’t mix and match RAM, just get 2 larger DIMM modules of the same type as the upgrade.

OK, noted. I'll look to get 2x 32GB modules. A fair expense annoyingly for DDR4 but I guess this chipset is going to see me out till 2026 when I next ugrade it. (New GPU next year).

You have an asrock X570 taichi which is almost like my one so with a design which is good for 4 sticks. I can tell you by experience 4x8GB samsung B-die reach 3600Mhz easily with my asrock X570 (down from 3800mhx when I had with 2 sticks). In any case, if you go for 4 sticks make sure they use the same chip memory to avoid problems.

BTW with an old bios I reached 3800Mhz with 4x8Gb stable until I updated the bios and had to back down to 3733Mhz. Running now at 3600Mhz to use lower voltage/ lower temps.

The 5800X3D doesn't need fast memory.

Any idea what the die is for the cheaper new version, I just want it to be on par with my current micon E kit that will do 3800 cl16

Anyone with any experience of this cheaper 8pack kit, I saw a comment saying people on here were getting good results on the cl18 kits, anyone got link to these discussions, cant find anything.
