Hello.

I have been asked to look at building a cheap but decent PC for a chum and I came up with the following.
Now I'm a bit out of practice with this, so what do you think ?
Not too shabby for £400.

I'm not too sure about my PSU choice. Do you need 600w for a 9800GT ?

Should be fine imho I would go with

That is a nicer looking case though. Can the 9800gt run on 420w ?

yeah from the spec you have listed you would be fine, a more powerful psu will only serve to future proof your system.
If your disillusioned friend insists on the nvidia route then,

If you think about it, £410 for a PC that's still going to be more than adequate for gaming and general usage for a good 12-18 months or so.

Its astouonding how cheap this stuff is these days
