Will this set up work???

Hi All,

Not sure if this would work..............

I built earlier this year my first PC spec below

Asus P5KC Mobo
Intel core 2 duo E6400 which is OC to 3.25Ghz (8*406)
4gb of Geil Ram PC2-6400 (400Mhz)
Gigabyte 8800GT
All in an Antec 900 with a Arctic Freezer pro 7

This i use for gaming, mainly COD4, but now want to build a HTPC.

What i would like to do is change the mobo to a Asus P5E-VM HDMI and connect this via the HDMI output to my Pioneer 427xd plasma and use the onboard gfx but for gaming use the 8800GT to my monitor. So i could be playin COD4 while the misus is watching a DVD/or something.

as far as im aware when you put your 8800gt in the slot you cant use the onboard so you would have to run your tv from that, and as far as gaming while watching a dvd, it wouldnt really work at the same time and on the same computer because not only would it slow your pc down but you would get the sound from the movie and the game overlapping wouldnt you... why not just get an upscaling dvd player or a bluray player and keep your pc for gaming but have the tv hooked up as a second monitor as it were for doing htpc stuff?? or just build a cheap second unit with that mobo and a 2160 or something..

Didn't think bout the sound issue (DOH)

Was just trying to do it cheeply, so look like i will be building a whole new system.
