My PC has sound via a sound card and at the moment because I've no speakers so i'm just getting my sound through headphones.

Now I've got a 32inch screen Id like to use and it of course has speakers built in (nothing amazing but better than headphones). The TV has HDMI's etc (no VGA/DVI) so I was just wondering if I connected my PC to the screen via a HDMI cable to one of its HDMI inputs, how would I go about getting sound

Would I have to run 2 cables from the outs on my sound card to the audio L/R in on the TV?

Heres a pic of the ins/outs on the TV.....

I'm also going to connect my 360 to the TV aswell but that will be on the 2nd HDMI port so should be fine.

Anyone any ideas?

HDMI supports audio out of the box you may have to upgrade your drivers depending on your graphics card(s) but it should work as if it was an xbox or blue-ray player out of the TV itself

Yeh i'm aware HDMI carries audio aswell however I have an external sound card for my audio on my PC as I do music production and currently have headphones plugged into my audio interface to listen to anything from the PC.

Will I be able to run 2 phonos from the outs on my audio interface to the R and L audio ins on the TV to get the audio?

No you wouldn't Unless You use a component cable.

The only way for you to get sound to your TV in your current setup is Via HDMI

However You wont be needing to use your external sound card if you are sending it to your TV.

An external sound card will give you better quality sound, however this will be void if you are sending it to your TV as most TVs have poor quality sound in comparison.

run the HDMI to the TV and just switch sound sources under "Playback devices" when you want to change between the TV and headphones. That way you'll get sound from your GPU on the TV and from your soundcard in your headphones.
