If i was to install Vista onto a single hard drive (a 320gb seagate 7200.1), and when i get my 2 WD Cavalier RE320gb's back off RMA, is there any chance that i can just use a image program or simular to put this onto the raid or will it have problems with the Raid when i migrate it over?

I'll prob load the drivers during the install anyhow. just so i know that the
drivers were there in the install.

Cheers

Warren

Should be ok to Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image it, Raid is seen as 1 HDD its done before the OS at a hardware level.

yea thats what i'm thinking, i've installed vista on my old 250gb SE16, and then when i get the 2 320gbs RMA'd i'll try it, if not its only installing vista again.

The big trick is getting the RAID drivers installed correctly on the single disk version before you do the image copy. If you don't get that bit right the array won't boot.

How do you do it? No idea of the specifics I'm afraid, it's not something I've ever tried.
