Will this work?

Hi there I've currently got 2gb (4x512mb) RAM. I'm thinking of upgrading this.

Curent setup:
Asus p5n-e sli
Intel Core2Duo e6600 2.4ghz
Nvidia 8800gts
2gb 800mhz ddr2 ram (4x512mb)
Xfi Xtreme Gamer soundcard
Random case
Coolermaster realpower m520

Will this ram: 'Geil 8 GB DDR2 800 Cl5.0 Quad Channel Black Dragon' be a) worth getting and b) compatible with the motherboard?

Also how much would u pay for this 2nd hand?

Should work no bother mate

Though tbh there is no real need for 8gig of ram unless you use ram intensive software

THIS would be more than enough imo.

Mainly want it for gaming - cod2, cod4 and cod6 (when out).

If i was to get the 4gb could I leave 2 sticks of the 512mb that I have already in there, to give a total of 5gb, or will this not work?

Yeah i would work mate

though most game will never use more than 4 gig anyway

but you could use them if you want

As kenny said, 4GB will be plenty. I have 8GB and it never all gets used unless im playing with VMs. Would have only gotten 4GB but it was so cheap it would have been a crim not to

using windows7 enterprise 64bit 90 day trial at the moment, until windows 7 comes out.

I've got 8GB, but only again, because I use VMs very heavily.
What OS are you using? You'll need a 64-bit OS in order to use any more than 3.5GB regardless.
