Hi all

I have a Sony Vaio which is a few years old now and came pre installed with Vista Premium, but had a bad virus on it (antivirus vista 2010) and is now running like crap even after a restore.

So what I want to know if i can formate it with a vista basic oem disk but still reuse the original vista serial key on the laptop?

who's the OEM disk from? in all probability it will work fine, but hey, what have you got to lose?

Just did that on my Acer Laptop, a random OEM disk from my collection & the serial on the Laptop.
