Hello, I have a 32" Samsung HDTV that i want to use as a monitor for my new computer.
Will i just need a mobo/GPU with a HDMI port to connect it or will this not work thanks.

Or you can use a HDMI to DVI converter or HDMI-DVI cable, but usually you lose sound, there are one or two exceptions.

Using a DVI to HDMI cable you will loose sound.

Unless you use an ATI card.

AMD/ATI use a non standard DVI connector on some (all?) of their cards which carries sound when used with their own DVI to HDMI adapter.

One of my friends from work has an ATI 3xxx series card.

His PC is connected to his TV using the ATI DVI to HDMI adapter which carries the sound without problem.

I think that was the 3xxx & 4xxx series cards looking at the dongles on various sites, been a while since I played with ATI / AMD card.

I'm getting an Nvidia GPU but i dont know where to get these HDMI - DVI cables.
Can anyone tell me (link me to one) please and thanks.

Thanks.
This mau sound nooby but does the DVI plug into my computer or does the HDMI
because the GPU has a hdmi port and so does the mobo.

In that case you can just use a HDMI cable which is the last link in my post above.

You would need to plug it into the External gpu and not the onboard, which Nivida card are you looking at buying?

Dont know how to overclock lol, and stulid is that GPU better than the two i was on about or did you just choose it because it was cheaper?

Its just cheaper, the other two have faster clock speeds.

All have fancy coolers etc.

But £200 for that Gigabyte is too much, its more than a ATI6950 2GB

Oh ok, well ill just choose a GPU when I come to building my first rig.

Can you please tell me the difference between Ti and non Ti?
Thanks.
