Will this work?

If you want the D14 then you are going to have to use low profile RAM like the ones you have picked or the XMS3 ones either would be fine with the D14.

Yes that build will work. Its also a lot cheaper!! think of the future upgrades you can do with that change:cool:

Haha :) And 64bit professional will definately be able to pick up the ram (16gb if i ever decide to get more) as well as the 3gb GPU?

Any 64bit OS will pick up more than 4GB of RAM, the GPU will work fine regardless of it being run on a x64 or x86 system.

Looks good. The Noctua NH-D14 cooler will work fine with four sticks of Corsair XMS3 RAM.

Also, the Windows 7 Professional 64 bit version can support up to 192GB of RAM (compared to Home Premium which can only support 16GB) -so you will have no issue with memory limits (the only only limit worth considering is the 32GB limit of the board).

The practical issue with home premium was that since your total installed memory (ie 16GB system RAM + 3GB video RAM) would be 19GB - then to stay within the 16GB memory limit of Windows 7 home premium your system would only be able to access 13GB of system RAM (and all 3GB of video RAM). As Window 7 Professional and Ultimate have a much higher memory limit of 192GB then this is never an issue with these versions of the OS.
