Will you be buying Intel 11th Gen CPU's?

I might stay put with my 3700x until the next big leap comes along, so on the Intel side that might be Ocean Cove. Interested to see how Alder Lake does though.

No. Rumours of ridiculous power consumption, i'm not spending £150 on an uber AIO and stuffing a massive rad in my case to tame it.

I went 5800X, just have to wait for it to arrive....

Just bought a 5950X to replace my 9900K so I have no interest in upgrading for a while, but even if I was a few gens behind I wouldn't be considering Intel now at least until they can produce 12 to 16 core chips that don't require a nuclear reactor to run while running very toasty. Intel are just too far behind at the moment and will be for quite some time.

Keenly awaiting reviews. I'll weigh up options once it's released and see how they compare with price/performance for gaming. Both are more or less dead end platforms now regardless. Hopefully we'll have a proper launch with availability without too much price gouging by the retailers.

Where do I go from i7 6700k which is starting to show it's age after 5 years my usage is gaming and general use

Wanting 8 cores will see pricing and performance and decide

I've only just recently bought a 5950x and I'm not keen on amd based on my initial experiences.

I mainly game and even the 10900k is very competitive, I'm sure the new intel cpu's will be better than the 5000 series for gaming. I'm probably going to sell everything and go back to intel.

To be honest the only reason I didn't go for intel was because of a lack of PCIe 4.0 support.

Yes, I’ll be getting a 11900K. Ordinarily I would have stayed with my 9900K and eventually upgraded to AMD, but my Z390 board failed, I bought a replacement but what arrived was a Z490, so I’ve got a 10th gen i3 to verify the board is ok, system working etc. And will drop an 11900k to utilise PCIE4.

What has surprised me is the 10th gen i3. It’s more or less a 7700K for £75!

I've been waiting since October to purchase a 5900X without any success. At this point its looking likely that I'll at least have to objectively look at it and see if it makes sense for my usage (mostly gaming + light productivity)

I won't be buying Intel until they get off 14nm and sort out their power usage.

Looks like AMD for me this time. I do hope the prices come down tho - AMD have become expensive again :(
