William Hill getting it wrong.

I have had a decent afternoon on Mr Hill's site but for some reason they have declared 2 bets as losers.

I placed money on "Time of Goal" during the Chelsea v Norwich game :

  • Bet 1 : A goal scored between 86 minutes and full time (7/4)
  • Bet 2 : A goal scored in 2nd half injury time (7/2)
Now both bets have been marked as "LOST" despite Mata scoring in the 100th minute. Having spent 15 minutes on Live Chat with William Hill the agent I "spoke" with agrees they are winners but cant do anything until he speaks with the "Settlers".

Anyone else had this problem.

This is the first time this has happened for me tbh. I reckon due to the fact there was over 11 mins of injury time they will find a tiny rule written somewhere saying they only count the first 5.

They paid out online to me over boxing that had to go to the scorecards early due to a cut, i forget which fight it was and the exact details. The problem was over whether the fight ended in the round or was a points decision. They paid out and i went out on the saturday night chuffed that the money was in my Will Hill account. Overnight they withdrew the money claiming that whichever thing i had bet on the other was the reality. I had no issue with the small print but i did have an issue with being punished for their mistake in crediting me in the first place. If i had gone into a branch and picked up my winnings they would have had no comeback. They offered me various compensations but refused to accept that the initial pay out was an unacceptable error.

Success - they actually paid out. Why it took 3 live chats and 1 1/2 hours of my time in total I have no idea. All I got when I asked why this happened - "We apologise" That was it.

Glad you got the cash in the end!

Also 3-3 from 3-1 down should be a good day but im still ****ed off at dropping 2 points!

I work at a gambling company.

Customer's are so impatient sometimes, just chill the **** out give it a couple of hours and it will probably be sorted on it's own, saving you having to waste 1 1/2 hours of your life chasing a bet.

They said his win bet was a lose. What do expect him to do?

If you have a winning bet that is marked as a loser would you encourage the winner to "chill the **** out" in the hope you sort it out without intervention?

apologies, saying LOST would cause some confusion, seems strange they would settle it like this before being 100% sure.

Yeah thats the point really. If it had remained "unsettled" then you would just assume that they were busy or something.

Having said that even on Grand National day Ladbrokes had settled my bets within an hour of the race despite the site being in meltdown!!

Did you place that bet after the Drogba injury? Good odds if so.

Yes - but to be honest I tend not to bet on results, I tend to do the penalties, corners, time of goals etc - better odds.

You usually get around 7/2 for injury time goals and Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Celtic etc are fairly good as this.

This season around 75% of penalties have been missed (@12/1 on average).

Anyhoo no more tips ! :D

As was said they had declared both bets as LOSING bets, not unsettled. I use Hill's all the time and the bets as usually settled within 10 mins of game finishing so no problems there. If it was not settled but left open then I would not have been on to them.
