MY wife does this all the time, I don't know how many times I've said to her "can you not hear that sound?" for her to respond with "What sound???". It really gets my goat, especially with her car, I checked the front disks and pads a couple of months ago told her to get them changed (she wont let me do it... another story that one) low and behold when I drove her car 1 week ago the breaks were metal on metal..... GGRRRRRRR two days later I got the mechanic to replace them..

Rather than a goon my wife had a very good education when you had to know your subjects - 3 A levels and 8 O levels GCE and these were the hard ones not like today's pamphlets- so not quite a goon - What she does lack is common sense.
I asked her to turn down the heating and a bit later I thought its bloody hot in here - Turned it the wrong way - Why - I couldn't remember.
Other than that she is a good worker - going to set the pressure washer up for her in a minute to do first half of the slabs. - I say point and press.

Levelling such vile accusations, even in jest, is a dangerous thing in the modern day...

I didn't think Wimmin was misogynistic and I had to look up what misogynistic meant.
Why is it today that everyone has to dissect a post and try to find hidden messages in it rather than take it at face value and have a smile to themselves. My wife is 69 and we have been married 47 yrs and if it was that bad do you think I would have stuck it out.

Yup, you are indeed living in another world. It no longer matters what you think or your intentions behind what you said/did... It only matters if someone else thinks you were being offensive. Even if your behaviour does not actually qualify as offensive, under the very definition of that offense... Even if the aforementioned someone else is not actually the victim/target of such offense... Even if you were obviously joking and the someone else has nothing to do with the matter, they still get offended on behalf of those people and will kick off big time over it.
