Wimmins and getting chunky

Are you very muscular then or fibbing about your waist measurement?

I'm 5'11'', 32" waist, average build and only 11.5 stone.

I'm about average muscliness I guess, probably have dense bones or something.

It has come to my attention that a surprisingly large number of female friends I have known since my and their late teens, who have been slim for ages, are suddenly becoming considerably larger right around hitting 30 years old.

The ones in questions have not had kids, so its nothing to do with that, and it doesn't even look like they are just getting fatter, they are actually becoming chunkier by way of body-shape. Legs (which usually stay whatever size they are unless you hit hippo size) that once were slim are now chunky and more muscular looking.

These were petite women (under 5'5", size 6-8) who over just the past few years started to hit 12-14 dress size. None of them have ever been in to exercising or sport.

Is there a biological cause for this, and I don't mean just 'getting old' as my gf has been a 8-10 all her adult life.
I have noticed this also, however I know a few women who are over 30 and still Non chunky, however she is a pole dancer so there's more pressure for her to stay in shape compared to a girl who works at Tesco for example ;)

****es me off when people say bigger women are 'real women'

So eating too much makes you a 'real woman?'

this annoys me a bit... we're getting fatter as a nation, its not a good thing - health considerations to this too as well as the superficial ones. Yet we've got a recent trend of embracing people who've clearly let themselves go by labeling them 'real women'.

If being a bit overweight/podgy, clearly not exercising too often or eating well becomes the norm and something to be proud of then it will only serve to increase the portion of people who end up massively obese. Shift the average to the right a bit and the weight that would have made up tail end of the distribution isn't too bigger than the average.

Making people feel good about themselves for neglecting their bodies is a bit farcical - programs like 'how to look good naked' are like giving out a medal at sports day to the kid who came in last...

2nd one has to be fake? Please?

Looks like a ****ing Bo Selecta character or something :(

Justintime is correct. She has to eat 8,000 calories a day just to not lose more weight!

The top one is a leading catwalk model though. I mean really? You might as well have sent a clothes hanger down the runway!
