Win 10 - user profile sync offline - pronto help needed

Yes. If a user has a laptop then they should have a keyboard, display, mouse at their desk and a docking station or appropriate cables.

Don't give someone two PCs, it's a headache and just adds cost.

THIS.....oh sweet merciful Jesus, THIS.
Had so many clowns at works insisting on having desktop and laptop back in the day. And yes, that is when a roaming profile would be useful.
But nah....one computer with docking station and peripherals as caged said.
A decent displaylink docks costs about £69. Sort it! :D:D

OK cool. Looks like we have two choices then. Either they use the laptops and we take the desktops away or we go with the local profile on the laptop and they can keep the desktop PC.

Q. Lets say we go with the first option of just using a laptop. If a user has been travelling and working on their profile offline what takes precedence. The profile on the laptop or that on the server?

I.e when they came back from travelling and login to their profile connected to the domain does the laptop profile overwrite the profile on the server?

From memory, and from experience of RP's a few versions back, the later dated profile, although it should present you with options of what files to keep when those of the same name have conflicting file size and modified dates. Caged may be able to provide better info here.
This was also the issue with RPs as users would use 2 computers but often not correctly logout of one, leaving the profile open when the user then logs in on another computer. This created no end of nightmares for us so we changed to local profiles instead.
We also use RDS (Remote Desktop services) for those employees that use more than one device and/or who work away from the office a lot.
