Ok, so i recently built an Asus Crosshair x870e, 7800X3D, WD Black SN8100 2tb

All has been fine for a week or 2 but now while booting i get about 8 to 9 rotations of the egg timer, delaying the boot up by about 10 seconds.
For the 1st week or 2 i wasn't even getting the egg timer up at all, so nice quick boots, just the same as my last B650E build.
I did a fresh install today and its just the same, 8 or 9 rotations ..... It's doing ma heed in :(

Any ideas??

No, this is all from cold/off booting. I find i have always got a few rotations when restarting on all of my machines.

I'm pretty sure its a moatherboard issue as i have a 2nd 1tb crucial drive that has been fine in the passed and that is doing it exactly the same

could be a windows update.
Installed as a local account with no net connection, still did the same thing :/

its it really that big of a deal? how many times a day do you boot your PC?
Well after using a PC for nearly 30 years i think i deserve one that boots in under 10 seconds :D But about 3 to 4 times a day maybe, so yer, it's not really about the time lost, more that it could be a reading issue and cause slow downs with everything else.
I don't see why after spending a fair chunk of change i should suffer a PC that isn't moving along as well as it could be tbh.

Disable any unnecessary services
Shouldn't really have to straight after a fresh install ?

It sounds more like a memory training issue with AM5. I have not yet upgraded from AM4 yet, but I've seen other similar threads about similar issues. Both Google and this other thread from a couple years back suggests making changes to EXPO.
Previous OCUk thread - talking about slow bootup
Quick Google search
Yes i did a google search and came across a different memory setting (MCR i think) this did nothing when changed :/ Will look into those links though, Thanks!

Windows has loads of service. I took it from 180 to 80
Yer i hear ya, and deffo a good idea to trim that crap down, but not sure it's the root of my problem atm.
I have done a few AS SSD benchmarks and that shows some fairly random results, will maybe post some screens over the weekend.

the memory training problem is long gone by the time you get the windows loading screen.

TBF it could be a million things, from BIOS on the mobo, to bios on the GPU and windows as been known to install new microcode updates that a fresh install wouldn't remove.
if the system is fine genuinely take the 8 second hit and move on with your life
