My son updated his windows 11 today and the computer wouldn't reboot afterwards - says "No bootable device found" in the Bios, even though it recognises the SSD is there

Any ideas fellas?

Fixboot doesnt seem to be working - i went into DISKPART and list volume - I can see the C: on there and its showing as healthy however its in Raw format and not FAT32 - is that right?

In diskpart when you run list disk is the SSD listed?

Can you select and clean it?

Diskpart
Select disk 0
Clean
Convert gpt

Once cleaned does it show in Windows setup as unallocated space?

If there was a bios update included via Windows update, it's possible a setting has defaulted back.
Worth checking any storage related options e.g.
Might be a choice between AHCI or raid for NVME drives, as well as CSM Vs UEFI boot.

Changing one of those can stop windows from booting

Looks like the SSD is buggered - trying to load new install of windows and it doesn't find the drive to load it on
That could be the AHCI Vs RAID setting. I had this when reinstalling a laptop for my son - it defaults to RAID but the intel drivers aren't included on a Windows 11 iso - setting it back to AHCI sorted it.
