Did he get the ram?
Did Shayper use a tracking number, if not why?

If he doesn't get the ram and after the situation with the christmas secret santa then Shayper should get a time out from the forums. It's all about trust fella and I can kinda see why Coke is saying what he is saying.

It was a free competition? Jesus Christ on a bike...

If it wasnt sent recorded and it indeed hasnt turned up the only way to save face is to actually buy the winner some ram and make damn sure its sent recorded delivery.

As above.

Look, I sent the ram. I have a spotless trust record, and have never had a problem in the mm or otherwise, apart from royal mail screwing them up. I bought a mouse off of someone which took 3 weeks to arrive via royal mail. I didn't complain, I waited patiently to see if it would turn up. If this ram doesn't turn up or arrive back at my house in Norwich, well, as I said it was a free competition. I'll send him some other stuff to compensate if it doesn't turn up in the next 2 weeks.

I'm sorry if this seems like a cop out, but quite frankly it was a free competition, I have owned and sent the ram to the winner, I don't really know what else I can do apart from claim against royal mail and send him some stuff to compensate.

I don't see how this warrants a suspension or otherwise, I am doing my best.

This is the obvious issue, you perhaps believe you are, but the reality says otherwise. I'm sorry, but trying to convince people that the mail service has let you down 3 times is preposterous, really, just stop as you are coming across as a child telling stories and the constant "honest, they did, it can happen" line is making it worse. No one is that unlucky and if they are twice they'd REALLY ensure the 3rd time it was perfect.

I'm sure your initial intentions were honourable, this is perhaps why people are not coming down that hard on you, but it's obvious to anyone with a modicum of knowledge of these things that your story is something sprouted out by a person who has dropped the ball and keeps dropping it. My advice for what it's worth is retire from the obvious diversion tactics, say no more on the matter, get it sorted and move on. Constant woe is me responses do you no favours and we can all promise shiny toys, but there comes a time when the person you offered the shiny toy asks "where's my toy" and arguing "it was free, you've lost nothing" doesn't really stack up now does it?

As I say I've no axe to grind here, sort it, put it to bed, move on, don't do it again and bar one or two planet brains it will be forgotten.

I never meant my argument to come across as childish, apologies. However I can guarantee that I sent the item. I won't argue my case anymore as you advise, as it's getting nobody anywhere. As I said I will endeavour to rectify this situation as best I can, and I'm just sorry that it has been this much of an issue :(

So again I mention..

Where is this tracking number, was it given to the winner?

I think I've already stated I didn't send it recorded. There's no excuse really, I know I should have, and am well aware I'm in the wrong for that.

I don't think the fact it was a free competition is even relevant. You need to get some ram to PESolution IMO.

And I will.

After the **** storm that was the SS, I'd have thought you were smart enough to send this by recorded delivery

I sent that before it kicked off.

I have a solution. If this doesn't arrive before the end of next week, if you could email me PESolution I will purchase some ram for delivery to your home address. I think that's fair everyone?

No way do you need to buy ram and send it..if the item is lost in the mail then so be it. If people don't want to believe that then tough really let them bash their keyboards...

Good point. But I think if it doesn't arrive it's only fair that something goes to the winner - if you won a competition on OcUK would you not want the prize? However it's nice to see someone not bashing me :p:D

Personal insults followed by a threat. I'm sure that breaks just a few of the forum rules.

Has Shayper been suspended from the members' market? Seems like he has had problems before there and we wouldn't want any unsuspecting people getting scammed.

Rather hypocritical there don't you think? I've had several sales in the MM and an impeccable trust record, so please, stop your baiting and do grow up.

Actually, it looks like he was just responding to your personal insult, so I don't see you have any legs to stand on with the forum rules comment!

I don't know the OP, I know nothing of the SS fiasco other than what I have gleemed from here. However, it was indeed a free give away, no different from the many other "post in this thread for your chance to win XX".

IF it was lost in the post then nothing can be done, IF the OP is lying about it then the winner hasn't really lost anything so claims to buy RAM are a little silly.

I think everyone needs to take a step back, grow up and realise that it's not important.

You all have the option to ignore the OP, if you don't like them, don't post in the threads!

Thanks dude.

Some of you really need to just give up with your personal vendetta against the guy.

Shayper if it doesn't turn up claim from royal mail. Send him something else to compensate if you want but there is no way you should be buying brand new ram because of pressure on the forums the contest winner has even told you not to worry about stuff like this happens. And after all the crap I have had with royal mai; I can truly believe they lost 3 items over christmas.

It is getting a bit tiresome. I have contributed a lot more to these forums than most of the naysayers, so I really don't understand the vehement vitriol aimed at me for a couple of issues.

As you said, royal mail are rather known for their downfalls. Whereas I have had two issues, one of which has been sorted, and I am trying to sort this issue now.

Some people just grab pitchforks for any issue they can.

Which post office did you post the items mate? I've no idea what the University Plain po is like, but all the others in that area - West Earlham, Colman Road, Larkman Lane, Earlham and Bowthorpe are all located in crap heaps of the worst magnitude. Hell - my ***** sister-in-law works at the Co-Op in West Earlham - she's probably thieved it, the scab. I'll ask her next time she takes a break off of the skag :D:D

Pound lane. Bit of a skankfest as well lol :D

Shayper, did you genuinely send it? If you did then it's bad luck and everyone moves on. If you didn't, just say so. It was a poor decision but honesty is better in these circumstances even if everyone thinks you're a **** for a week or two.

For what it's worth I'd like to believe you did send it. You don't strike me as a distrustful person.

Hhonestly? I sent it :)
