Looking for some help :)

I have 2x 2TB Seagate 6GB/s HDDs that I want to put into RAID 1 for backup. They are plugged into Marvell PCIe 9182 controller on my Asus Maximus IV Extreme P67 board. Both HDDs are recognised in the BIOS and Marvell Controller Utility and a new RAID array has been created however when booting into Windows 7, nothing appears in disk management or my computer.

If I delete the RAID array and set the Marvell controller to AHCI mode (instead of RAID) in the BIOS, the HDDs reappear in both My Computer and Disk Managment.

Does anybody know how a RAID 1 array can be recognised by Win7?
Thanks for any help in advance.

1) RAID1 is for redundancy, it's not a proper backup. Use an external drive if you want a decent backup.

2) As for the problem it sounds like you don't have the Marvell RAID driver installed hence when it's in RAID mode Windows doesn't know what's out there. When it's in AHCI mode Windows can use it's generic built in driver to access the disks.
