Is there anyway when using Explorer in windows you can make it act like XP/Vista.

Whilst I can transverse using the right panel, it does not open up the relevant location on the left panel.

So if I was on

E:/Media/Games/Saves/Save 1

The panel on the left would still be on

E:/

Which I then have to open manually.

If I navigate to a different folder, I have to open the directory on the left manually as well.

It is annoying, and makes using explorer twice as complicated.

Right click on the blank space in the left panel, and choose expand to current folder. Might be able to make that default behaviour too.

It shows the folders at the top when you go down the levels, just click on the one you want back to.

In an Explorer window:

Organize > Folder and Search Options > Navigation Pane (bottom section of first tab) > Automatically Expand to Current Folder

Simples. :)
