Win 7 Folder Views

My views keep changing in explorer (Win 7 x64) to the details setting. I like to view them with the list setting, they change even when I apply the settings to all folders. This used to happen ages ago and it's getting a bit annoying now having to change the settings every time I go into explorer. Is there an add on or something that will stop these changes?

It *should* remember the setting last used with that folder.

Have you tryed 'Restore Defaults' in the Folder and Search options.

I tried that but it still happens. I recall having this same problem in Vista.

This happens randomly to my Recycle Bin. Sometimes it even goes back to how i like it (Detailed) without me doing anything...! But never had it with general folders...

I have no idea why.... lol

Have a similar problem where foders won't remember individual settings. Have you mapped your Documents folder to a 2nd drive?

This problem is something I have experienced since XP and I have always had a separate documents drive where I plant my default documents folder.

Will try the reg fix!

I dont have an issue with other folders, (Least i dont think so/haven't noticed it) just always seems to be my bin..... Random.

It will take a long time to confirm, I always cleared the bagsMRU entries in the registry to temp fix it for a few months but it always came back after a while with random folders forgetting their views. Right now only certain folders always forget their views after a day.
