Win 7 Pro + Bitlocker

Hi,

Does anyone know what the deal is with Bitlocker and Win 7 Pro?

Lots of conflicting information out there at with the same sites saying it's not possible and it is.

Some say with pro you can only encrypt the C: and not external, others say it's not possible at all.

C: encryption is all that is needed.

If Bitlocker isn't an option, any other options?

Well, the problem we have is we are buying in Dell laptops that have a win 10 pro CD in the box as a restore disk and win 7 pro installed on the actually laptops.

7 laptops had already gone out and we wanted a low impact option to get them encrypted. Getting them sent back in to be upgraded and then shipped out again would cost too much money in lost sales.

We've bought 7 licences for DESlock+ PRO and I've used it to encrypt 3 laptops so far, logging in late in the day and leave it encrypting overnight.

Works a charm.

We couldn't use opensource such as Veracrypt due to restrictions from the licensing company.

I'm going to grab a spare laptop tomorrow and see if I can update to win 10 from 7 with the CD's in the boxes, then I can set bitlocker up on them now and not have to worry )
