So im going to download windows 7 pro from msdn, whats the difference between x86 and x64? Which one is better?

That would depend on the amount of ram your system has.

If it's less than 4GB, go with the 32bit ( X86) version. otherwise, 64bit (X64) is the way forward.

It was likely you had an x64 capable processor when you said you had 4+GB of RAM, but strictly speaking it was possible you had that amount of RAM but still only an x86 processor .
