Win 8 Help

Hi

I have just got a windows 8 laptop and I need help as I am totally lost with the OS.

How do I get to the control panel?
How do I get Internet Explorer to run on metro as I have unpinned it and I want it back
~~How do I search for things?~~
How do I disable network sharing?
And what is the best tool to get the standard start menu bar back?
Can you change the start screen background to your own image?

From the Start screen, just start typing to invoke the search. That should get you started for now.

For the control panel - either type 'control panel' on the start screen, or from the desktop, open the settings charm (win+C then settings), and can be opened from there.

To find internet explorer, open the start screen, you should then be able to right-click and select 'all apps' - it should be in this list somewhere. Right click on the app and you can pin it back onto your start screen if required.

The start screen background has to be selected from those MS provide. However, I think that there may be third party tools that let you change this - I'm sure a google search will find something.

If you move your cursor into the bottom left corner and RIGHT click, you access a context menu you might find useful.
