win 8 not seeing my MP3's

When I try to play my MP3 collection in WPM or VLC player nothing plays from drag n drop, searching for the files finds empty folders except for the cover pics
Yet they will play in WMC.
Any ideas what's going on here?

imo its the realtek drivers, or at least thats what was causing the same issue on my PC

When you had Your problems could windows 8 see your MP3 file or were your folders empty?

yeah, it saw the files were there, and could be opened by third party apps but not by any windows programs until i disabled enhancements in sound settings.

I tried that and it sill wont work, I even un-installed the drivers an still not working :confused:
