Win 8 wont access router homepage?

I have upgraded to windows 8.1

My PC wont access the router config page anymore.

I also have 8.1 on a Laptop and that does the same.

I have installed 7 and its fine but when I put 8 back on. no?

There is clearly somne reason why Windows 8.1 wont let me access the Routers config page, but what is it?

Router is a Netgear DGN3500 and IPCONFIG shows its at 192.168.0.1 as it should be.

Anyone care to explain?
 
Thank you people. Sorry for not getting back sooner. Busy as you like.

I use Firefox. I also get the problem with IE and chrome.

I normally only have to use 192.168.0.1 to get in and I have used http:// before it and this does nothing, I also tried https:// and I was pointed to a page about security ( in ie ) and when I chose to continue to the page, I got error 403 forbidden.

adding to compatibility view - I tried that now too, but it still just sits there waiting.

I am still no better off?

I am not getting this issue with Windows 7
 
Is it only over wireless that it fails to work?

Sometimes, management pages only work on wired connections
