Well, i've got the cd key.

But when I try to install Media Center it says it's not valid!!!

Any ideas?

Could be an OEM key and you aren't using an OEM install CD.

How do I know if my copy of XP is oem?

1. Media Center is clean install only.

2. You said you had XP Pro a second ago. Are you trying to install MCE with an XP Pro key?
