Win10, Hibernate/fast start???

If I don't completely shut down, it puts the bloody hibernate file on my drive & linux can't mount them accept for read only... I disabled hibernate/fast boot, not sure why it still does it... https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4189-turn-off-fast-startup-windows-10-a.html is that file safe to download???

If you disable it via the admin command prompt (powercfg -h off), it should nuke the hiberfil.sys file entirely and you shouldn't have any issues.

what did you mean ? either you have shut it down, hibernated or standby ? what is the power button/lid-close that you are using to shut it down defined to do ?

I would never download .bat files unless you are able to inspect/review them, the web site shows you an easier technique anyway - "option 1" ?

Windows 10 doesn't shut down fully by default, you have to do 'shutdown -p' to perform a 'complete' shutdown.

or hold left shift when you click Shutdown.
