Win7 64bit RC on Raid 0 ?

Hi

I have just bought a couple of WD Black 500GB drives and intend to raid 0 them as a boot drive.

Does anyone know of an issues reinstalling Win7 64bit RC on a stripped Raid (Gigabyte motherboards raid controller) ?

I will be using my current 250GB boot drive for an online backup for the important stuff.

Hi there, I have *exactly* the same setup as you by the sounds of it.
2xWD500black HDD's Raid0 (for boot OS)
W7-64 RC1 using Gigabyte (i7) onboard Raid0.

I've had to reinstall win7-64 twice in the last 3 months, but that was my own fault, I was messing about with TSR's etc.

Apart from my own stupidity, no problems, runs like a racehorse on meths.

Thanks for the reply.

I did this last night and it installed fine. Had to swap SATA ports so it did not boot off the old boot drive and a bit of fiddling around with security permissions to gain access to my 'old' files on the old hard drive but apart from that it went pretty smoothly.

Just have to do a last check before clearing my old drive to keep it exclusively for storing important stuff then install the games again..... large Steam downloads.
