For some reason, later versions of openvpn aren't working right on my win7 machine.
I have nordvpn, on all my win10 machines, nordvpn's client works fine. On my win7 machine, it constantly loses connection. It would connect, you would load a webpage fine, it would drop, nothing would load, then it would do the same again.
So I switched to using openvpn 2.3.4. After switching, it was fine, it stayed connected to the nordvpn server and from my testing, there didn't seem to be any leaks.
Anyway, for whatever reason, it started to leak dns requests. So I tried to switch to 2.4 which has an option for killing any leaks with block-outside-dns. Soon as I switched the win7 machine over to 2.4, it started to behave exactly as the nordvpn client does (which uses openvpn underneath it all), connects, loads a webpage, dies, windows says no connection, connects, dies etc.
Switching back to 2.3.4 and it's perfect again, but I have to use dnleaktest's script that stops the dns leaks.
I'd like to use a later version of openvpn or even nord's client, but the system just doesn't seem to like it for some reason and behaves the same with anything using a later version.
Any ideas?
