win7 multiple audio out

I used to be able under vista to have my music playing through onboard sound card realtek and games through x-fi at same time allowing me to game with headphones whilst listening to iplayer/music.

Can this be done with windows7 ?

Why can vista allow me to specify which soundcard to use and win7 cannot?

i want to watch skyplayer through realtek onboard whilst still gaming thru xfi via headphones.

right click app in task bar select audio device if my memory serves me correct. in fact i will install via vbox and check
