win8 = fail

It's Windows 7 with some gash front page to it for touchscreen use.

The 100,000 changes are just a bunch of yanks fannying around making a mess of an OS (ahem w7) that works well

Good thing not everyone takes your view point.
We'd still be back in the dark ages, never trying anything new or refining/developing existing ideas.

just remember win 7 was no where near perfect when they released the beta. win 8 still has a long way to come but it does have potential :) personaly I will be sticking to win7 for the time being :D

With some metro UI improvements for the mouse/desktop users. Windows 8 will be top notch. Just at the moment it is a little obtrusive but hopefully with sensible feedback and some additional development they will smooth that out. Apart from that its wonderful and those who haves phones tablets etc or touch screens it is fantastic!

I posted in the other thread, but atm my feeling is MS pushing a touch-friendly paradigm on full size PCs is a waste of time.

Will a 3ghz pentium 4 pc with 1 gb of RAM scrape through and tun Win8? just want to have a peek and I might try it..... :D

I've seen W8 for long enough to say it's still rubbish.

Were going back intime. It's Vista all over again. It should have never happened!

Right...Because added features are always a bad thing. You say you've seen it long enough to say its rubbish.

Are you aware of the fact most these touch panel\ app styled features are optional? Customize it to how you want it, Including having it pretty much like Windows 7 again.... How can having the options there for people who do want them be a bad thing.

Vista all over again? back this up please if you're able to

This thread is to determine why the OP can't install the product.

Looking at which, I'm wondering if something like speed-step is taking the core speed down to low. Check CPU_Z.. Just clutching at straws there.. I've just installed it on my 1.7Ghz laptop.. No problems.
