Been using Winamp for Android since its release as it nicely integrates with my Desktop version of Winamp with the Wi-Fi transfer etc...

2 updates ago they nicely introduced an Equalizer into the program to tweak the sound :) , then I found out it was a 'Pro' only option along with a few other extra niceties  I didn't want to pay $4 or so for these!! so bumbled along with the Free version...

Yesterday there was a new update to the program, so I updated and Installed it... Imagine my surprise when firing up the player to find I now have the Equalizer and all the other extras that are 'Pro' only... I didn't pay for them!?!... I didn't 'Hack' the program either!!...

Only thing I can think is, because I have the 'Pro' version on my Laptop which I payed $7 for way back in Winamp v2.1, that it's given me the 'Pro' functions for my Android version!?!... :)

Anyone else running the Android (free) version and have the 'Pro' desktop version found it's unlocked the Android version???... or even your Android version has become 'Pro' overnight gratis from the nice people over at the Llama factory!?!...

Is android winamp any good? Incidently I bought the license for 'pro' for windows winamp years ago, then abandoned it when it constantly crashed (or crashed my PC!). I've since tried it again, and it seems to work (Apart from annoyingly playing some video's at double speed, which Media Player has no problems with *sigh*).

So you're complaining because you got paid pro version of an app for free?

Not complaining!.. Just confused!.. :p

I had that with Winamp v3, once v5 was released it again became my default player, but for Music only!!.. It's still crap when it comes to handeling Video!, I use MPC-HC and VLC (depending on my mood) for those!!

Being thick... I have turned on sync'ing in winamp... how do I actually sync it to my winamp desktop?

EDIT: Failure was me looking for 'Add Media Library'. Ignore that.. looks on the left hand links on winamp desktop for 'Devices', and as long as you have set in winamp android to sync wirelessly (you should be connected to your wireless router already), your phone should be visible to sync with.

I agree with grudas, Winamp just didn't seem worth using when Power Amp is available.

Don't you have to pay for Power Amp to get any decent controls?!?!?...

Yarp! :D

We can be so interconnected it's ridiculous.

I now have the option to:

Play music/videos/photos from my NAS drive to my phone (via 'smartshare') or to anywhere else.
Get access to any connected device in my house to any other.
Play music from my phone on the PC via winamp.
Play music to my phone from winamp.
Remote control the PC's winamp from my phone.

I think it will become a decision to just decide on which method to use to play content lol.

There is a 7 day trial and the licence is like £3.09 or something random after currency conversion. Well worth it for what is widely regarded as one of the best audio players on Android.

I probably use it more than any other app on my phone, paid or free. Perhaps the only exception being Boat Browser.
