winamp not playing right side speakers :(

not sure if this is just winamp but some reason randomly winamp has started to play in both speakers when i click the song but then once it changes itself to next song only the left speakers will be playing the sound, until i click the song again to replay then both will work. I did a reinstall but that has now made the left only ever work no matter what i do.

trouble is have is testing if this is just winamp or all programs as i can only set winamp to only play the left or right side, nothing else afaik does this.

anyone know why this might be? windows is saying the sound is centralised and when i plug the speakers in the other way round the sound does the same thing, so its not the speakers which are broke either.

Hi,

Well, make sure that all of the volume controls in Windows Volume Control are central.

Another thing, is it will all of your music, or only certain songs?

It could be that the music itself is only to be played through one channel...

everything is set to central in winamp and windows.

happens on all songs, though when using the speakers on dvd player (not connected to pc) they work fine.

when changing speakers around, so the one on the right is plugged into the left, the right one was going up and down with the volume, so making me think it's the speaker but then as said it's not happening when playing a dvd plus this didn't happen before reinstalling winamp it just would stop working every song change that i didn't make.

What version of Winamp? The latest one? If so can you see the balance mixer or whatever? Is the bar central to indicate an even balance on the speakers?

If you look in the Plugins>Output>Nullsoft Directsound Output what is listed as the audio device? You might need to re-specify the device.

winamp is set to central, have to tell you the second part once home. if winamp was set to left side then the sound wouldn't have fixed itself when i click to play the song myself

Have you tried any other programs? Just wondering if it isn't Winamp but the soundcard borked in some way so its only playing sound on the left channel?
