Winamp: transition between tracks not smooth

When I'm listening to ripped CDs of one continuous piece of music that are subdivided into tracks (like opera or some jazz albums), Winamp inserts a tiny but very noticeable and annoying little pause between tracks. Is there any way to prevent it, either in its options or via a plugin?

Just had a quick google:

In DirectSound output settings:

* Move 'Buffer-ahead on track change' to 1000 ms
* Enable 'Remove silence at beginning / end of track'
* Move the slider to -60 dB to prevent soft/silent intro's/endings being chopped.

Thanks, I'll try the "Buffer ahead" option but not the remove silence one yet. If I'm listening to songs that are individual tracks sometimes the pause is nice, especially if it's on shuffle and it jumps to something completely different afterwards :p
I've also disabled the 'enable volume control' and 'smooth volume changes' options, there's no point to them, if I've got lots of different albums with volume variations on my playlist I'll enable the RockSteady plugin.
