Windforce 290X delivered - pics

That's great.

What is your processor and what is it clocked at?

I am still on Socket 1156 running an i5 760 at 4.0Ghz so will be interesting what sort of bottleneck that may be in different things.

It's not artifacting any more, that seemed to be a one off. I can get more out of it, but think I need more volts. How can I unlock more?

Hi is that the first generation i5 if so that's the one I've got 'it will be interesting to see how well it performs with that.

1. Find your MSI AB directory.
2. Make a shortcut of the MSI AB.exe onto your desktop.
3. Right click, properties and paste this at the end of target "/wi4,30,8d,10" after MSI AB.exe. This will give you +100mV
4. Run AB after running the shortcut with edited target and you should have an extra 100mV. (This edited shortcut will not launch MSI AB, you'll have to launch MSI AB from the original .exe or shortcut, so rename the edited shortcut to something like "MSI AB Voltage Adjust")

Last 2 digits in the command switch are hexadecimal NOT decimal. 1 step = 6.25mv. For fine tuning voltage take the amount of mv you want to offset and divide by 6.25, then convert this number to hex (google).

/wi4,30,8d,10 = +100mv
/wi4,30,8d,18 = +150mv
/wi4,30,8d,00 = reset voltage (make another shortcut for this)

Yeah im looking forward to trying it out.

Just hope my setup does it justice but either way its going to be far better than my 6870 which is a major bottleneck.

just got mine fitted (non x version - also came with bf4 key!) and ran a few tests. Unigine valley scores on old 6950: everything maxed out at 1920x1200 8x aa ultra:
fps 22,
score 921,
min 13.1,
max 38.9!
same settings on my 290:
fps 53.0
score 2219
min fps 25.0
max fps 98.9

default target temp was 85 - i lowered it to 80, upped the max fan speed a bit to 55, pretty much stays on that! and still pretty quiet. pleased with results so far. what i expected, over 100% faster, could probably increase performance by about 20-30% by upgrading my cpu, but not to much of a bottleneck
