Window MPC not won't let me navigate DVD menu's

I'm just trying to use Windows MPC to play a DVD that I have, as I have done on numerous occasions before, but it won't let me select anything off the menu screen to actually play the DVD, ie won't let me click play on the screen.

Any idea's why this might be? Just playing a normal region 2 DVD on a dell wodescreen monitor, using the ffdshow codec.

Any input would be appriciated.

Ok so I think I may have been being a bit of a fool, got it working now, the reason being I have to hover the mouse cursor about a centimeter over the actual menu writing to get it to actually make *** selection.

Is there any actual reason for that or is it just one of those things/way it interacts with my monitor?
