Window Tints

Hardly, a lot of people made the same point I did but you singled me out, I can take a joke, but it has to be funny or at least true. The only thing you can come up with is that I buy expensive tyres which is hardly a bad thing.

They're not even THAT expensive in the grand scheme of things, just of decent quality. To get even half decent tyres for mine is about a ton a corner from most mainstream places. Thats having 18" wheels for you..... (factory fitted and they suit the car lol)

:D

To be fair, I remember the days of being ridiculed at buying windscreen wipers for my car that apparently doubled it's value (a 1977 Mini Clubman), and seeing the funny side of it, laughed with them, I certainly didn't retort with some quite boring and staid line about how they increased the safety of my car :D

Mind you £75 notes is a bit silly when you consider i'm only rolling on 14s. If I had 15s I'd be better off. I'm tempted to get the Escort GTI wheels if a set come up. They look identical to the cossie wheels but aren't as wide. Seen a few sets on MK4 and they look bang tidy :)

Ignore the AWFUL colour, as you'll agree they suit the car nicely.

That colour is the most horrendous thing I've ever seen, a step below the metallic yellow xsara I had a few years back :)

But yes, those wheels suit the car, dont really look out of place. If you time it well, when you need new rubber you might be able to track down a set with good tires on them

I only took a pic because I've only ever seen that colour on promo shots. It's nasty :p

I checked and I can get a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 fitted on the GTI wheels for £292. Cheaper than a set of good rubber my silly 14s :p

There's a set on fleabay at the mo, I'm very tempted :) I'll keep the old wheels and bung em on the car when I sell if of course, I'm not that daft :p

£292 is a bargain and they wont make the car look chavvy...

My car fails at cheap tyres

Sometimes I love having small wheels. The most expensive road focused tyres for 12"s are about £35 each :p

I'm not a fan of just changing the wheels to something larger, unless you have some form of body mods to compliment them, they end up looking out of place otherwise.. Which would be quite ironic considering the OP's slating :D

Changing by an inch and using OEM alloys is not the same as the OP.

They are OEM wheels which are going to be 1" bigger which is going to be compensated by a lower profile tyre so the same radius will be maintained. A good set of tyres will cost £100 less on the 15s so the wheels could pay for themselves quite easily plus I get a much larger choice of tyres as many tyre makers have forgotten about my poor old 14 inch wheels :(

STOP TROLLING
