window update problem

Hi just had an update to win 8.1 on my main gx70 laptop and now it's been sitting there for 30 mins saying working on features 100 % complete do not turn off your machine.

It can't take this long surely

if its installing 8.1 update 1 it can take over an hour

Yeah so I found out one and a half hours later, all up and running now

Ah, the legendary Windows progress bar strikes again 5 mins from 1 to 100%, then sits on 100% for hours.

It's amazing that after all these years nobody has invented a progress bar that actually works

You are lucky beefybarn I've now tried to update from Win Pro 8 to 8.1 at least ten times now(from the Ms store) and all failed, I get an error message and have looked on the Microsoft support site, where there are hundreds of posts with the same or similar error message. I have tried many of the suggested 'fixes' to no avail. A Win 8.1Pro ISO image would allow me to just install the bloody thing but not available. At this rate I will not be able to upgrade to 8.1 before the 2015 deadline set by MS.
