I know this sounds like a stupid question (Try searching Win 10 AU atm and it is all doom and gloom)

After I upgraded to AU, I can see no difference at all. My Privacy setting no different, start menu, desktop etc nothing new and just as I like it... Other than a few apps that I had removed via power shell that were back but are now, once again, gone. I genuinely can see do difference....

I forced the update today ready for a troubleshooting nightmare and it is has not been the case.....

Am I just lucky or was this by design?

Just think of it like the SP2 update for Windows, with a few tweaked/new features. The core is still the same Windows 10.

TBH that is exactly how it feels. There is so much doom and gloom about it that I have forced it today so I had time to resolve the expected issues....

Business as usual then.....

Cheers for the reply

Start menu has changed, the all apps menu is now always open which e fact that there are all those modern apps permanently linked a pita.

Not a lot has changed visibly, but how have you not noticed that the start menu is different now? The all apps section is permanently displayed to the left of the tiles whereas before you had to click on all apps. It also now has small icons along the left for File Explorer, etc.

Notification centre has had a few tweaks and the icon for it moved from the left of the clock to the right

Clicking on the date/time in the corner now brings up the day's agenda with the ability to hop into the calendar app to add appointments.

Preferences windows now display the list of sections on the left, saving you from having to go back each time whenever you wanted to access a new section.

You can install the Linux Subsystem for windows in add/remove programs.

That's about all I've found really, in addition to a few small tweaks here and there. Nothing that's all that big a deal.

Updated many to AU not one problem. Just use the windows media creation tool to make a dvd or usb and update from that inside windows and run the setup and ignore the search for windows updates part and update after AU has installed. Then you might need to readjust the privacy settings and the sound and video driver settings as they go back to defaults as if they were newly installed. That's it.

I installed Win 10 AD on 2 machines. One was a HTPC with very little apps, this worked fine. However on a Laptop with Win 10 Pro I had to roll back to previous build, the machine was locking up just after login screen.

All my other machines have deferred update selected, and won't upgrade to Win 10 AD on these until I really have to.
