Hi all.

I've been a Firefox user for years and have never felt the need to change.

I've had it set up how I like and it's worked fine for me until the last few months when I've had several crashes and lost session data.

Now I usually have 40 odd tabs open on one window especially on long fast moving threads and I close the browser down and reopen it daily (Session restore)

I backup my layout and session and over time I guess the profile has just got cluttered and that has caused the crashes (I'm not blaming Firefox)

Tomorrow I am building a new PC and thought about trying a new browser but there are so many these days, the main ones, Chrome, Firefox, I.E and now Edge, Opera and Vivaldi and a whole host of smaller ones.

One of the main reasons I was thinking about changing is the lack of 1080p streaming in Firefox and Chrome. I have a smart 4K TV so Amazon Prime and Netflix I have via the Smart features but anything else would be an issue.

Should I stay with Firefox, switch to Chrome, try Vivaldi?

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

Kate.

I use Firefox myself and have done for a good while. Tried chrome for a while, but kept coming back to Firefox.

Have you tried the 64bit version of Firefox? Can't say I've ever had any issues with the 64bit one.

There really isn't that much choice for decent browsers really. Chrome, Firefox and maybe Opera, and that's it. The rest are pants.

I use Chrome for personal and Firefox for work and am happy.

Thanks.

I've just checked my Firefox version and it says WOW64 which is apparently the 32 bit version ?? it would say Win64 if it was the 64 bit version. I do have the 64bit client downloaded ready for tomorrow as well as Chrome.

I think I'll try a Fresh Firefox 64 bit install.

Thanks again.
