Windows 10 Remote Desktop issues

Hey guys,

Recently upgraded to W10 and having issues trying to Remote Desktop into my server which is running W7.

Network is all working fine, I have folders shared between both computers etc. When I try and Remote Desktop it just sits at initiating for 30 seconds before saying cannot find the computer.

I've tried it without any firewalls on both computers, as well as different logins for the server. No joy. Does anyone have any idea how to get it to work???

Have you tried an alternative like Teamviewer?

Maybe even VNC, we use that at work to remote into the servers and it works well. UltraVNC is free (we usually use this if the PC doesn't like RealVNC): http://www.uvnc.com/

Keep the firewall enabled but create a rule for RDP connections. Check that the "Less Secure" RDP Protocol is enabled (and that it is actually enabled!).

I'll check out U-VNC if I have no luck with RD thanks.

If it doesn't work with both the firewalls disabled then I don't see how just making a rule and leaving them up will help?
