My dad tried to fix a "Group Policy" error on his new Windows 10 laptop.
He googled and found what he thought was a fix. I'm guessing that he fell prey to a dodgy download link because after installing the fix and rebooting, he can't log in to the PC.
He's changed his MS account password using the standard MS procedure, but the PC still won't login - it seems like networking is disabled and the account password has been changed.
Previously, I would have been able to tell him to start in Safe mode and log in remotely (I would need to get a flight to see my parents!), but since it seems Windows 10 needs the PC login to get anywhere, that isn't an option.
Any ideas?
I'm assuming that he should buy a USB memory stick and install a boot helper or something from another PC.
Thanks!
