So I know this CPU isn't supported by Microsoft and there is much annoyance on the web about this it seems.

I have a dell Inspiron 7559 with this CPU and evry other part of the system is compatible. I have just done a clean install of windows 10 and subsequently wondered if anyone had forced a windows 11 upgrade on a similar system and is /was it worth it??

I've a Dell Latitude E5570 with an i5 6200U CPU and I've installed Windows 11 on it with no problems whatsoever. I don't believe Microsoft are blocking Windows 11 installations on unsupported hardware until the next version anyway, so go ahead.

Below is the registry bypass I use - just save as Bypass.reg. There's plenty of instructions how and when to use it online.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig]
"BypassCPUCheck"=dword:00000001
"BypassRAMCheck"=dword:00000001
"BypassSecureBootCheck"=dword:00000001
"BypassStorageCheck"=dword:00000001
"BypassTPMCheck"=dword:00000001

Could potentially look at something like Tiny11, I keep meaning to look into it as a way to upgrade a family member's computer which is still running happily on a 5th gen i5 CPU/board.

I have a 6th gen PC running Windows 11. Since it has TPM 2.0 and secure boot it didn't need any fiddling during the upgrade, but there was a prompt to accept the CPU was unsupported. Is it worth it? Not really, it didn't change anything except it looks slightly different :D
