Anyone know how to make one?

I need a bootable cd to boot into dos so i can set-up the OS.

I have a folder on the disk called bootdisk which contain

cdboot1
cdboot2
cdboot3
cdboot4

all .img files

not sure what to do with these though?

You need a program such as Nero- copy all the OS installation files into a boot CD compilation and then under the image option, set microsoft corporation.img as the image :)

where is that corporation.img file?

I have CDBOOT1.img
cdboot2.img
cdboot3.img
and
cdboot4.img

why boot into dos? just make the cd bootable and run setup directly? easiest way to do this would be to copy the cd contents (or just the i386 folder) to your harddrive and use nlite to make a bootable iso. which you can then burn to a new cd. :)

http://nliteos.org

on the 'task selection' screen untick all the options except 'create bootable iso'..... although integrating service pack4 at this point would a good idea if you can be bothered.... :D

can winiso do the same thing? copy the complete directory and make a bootable iso?

the machine im sticking it on has suse linux on there atm

if you use winiso i would imagine you would have to specify the cd bootloader file manually (this you would have to acquire this manually, easy enough to download or rip it from another bootable windows cd you have such as an xp disk), and configure a few settings. that's why i suggested nlite as it does all the hard work for you.... :p

Why Not just make a bootable WinPE or BartPE cd then you can have the best of both worlds. It will do everything you can do in the dos command shell and more, with the additions of a few plugins it can be used as a full blown OS.
