Well I am relatively new to the windows game (radio background), was sent to site and the windows server 2003 said the password had expired and for me to input a new one.

So I just added two letters to the front of the existing password and logged in but now have a funny feeling I have ****ed things up by doing that.

I then went into local users, administrator to change the password back but it gives a huge warning about doing that and so I never.

What is the damage? I never knew you were not meant to change server 2003 passwords :'(

If you're referring to this:

Don't worry, it's just a standard warning box.

If your on about server 2003, are you using a local user or a domain one?

The above is for a local user but isn't prompted when changing the password for a domain user.
