We currently have a Windows 2003 Server based machine in the office, with 8 laptops connected to it via a hub. The server runs DHCP and assigns IP addresses to all the laptops.

We can all see the shared files on the server, but none of the laptops can can see each other's shared files. The laptops can ping each other though.

I am trying to set up WAMP on a laptop and put MediaWiki on there, but none of the other laptops can access it because of the same problem mentioned above.

I am guessing this is an issue with the DHCP settings on the server, but I don't know what it is...

Its probably not a DHCP problem to be honest. I assume they are not on a domain so are all the laptops in the same workgroup? If you type in \\<the ip address of a laptop> into a windows explorer address bar does it show you the shares? What firewall is on the machines is it blocking file and printer sharing?

Also, this would probably be better off in the network section, a friendly don might move it for you.

Agree with J.B, answer those questions and you should get closer to solving your problem.

Can the server see any of the shares on the laptops?
