Windows 2003 server - redirection of 2K client "my docs"

Hiya

I've got a group policy setup in Windows 2003 server to redirect the desktop shortcut for my documents to the users home folder, works fantastic with windows XP but seems to get ignored with Windows 2000 SP4. Any ideas why? is there an additional setting required? We DONT want to use roaming profiles, purely redirect this shortcut.

I was trying to avoid scripts for this but if anyone has one please feel free to post

not 100% sure with 2003 server, however Can you not just set the home directory in their profile to \\servername\share\username ?

Yeah rather than just saying "redirect to users home folder" you can use paths however think I'd previously just tried to direct it at P: (thier network path) but it wants a proper UNC value. going to give this a shot instead.

shame the 2K clients don't pick up the home folder themselves like the XP ones did it worked flawlessly!
