Forgive my supid question i know almost nothing about licenses and sofware.

I have a legit copy of windows 7 home retail from ocuk which i use on my desk top.
Just ordered a hp mini hp 311c and want to put windows 7 64 bit on it, can i just load it up from my current disc and pay for another key online or do i have to buy another copy from a e-tailer

Most of all is buying the key legal? if not ill forget it and buy another copy just trying to keep things right :D

Could you not use your current disc to do the install now but not enter a key yet, then when you purchase another copy just enter that key to authorise it.

Sorry if this is wrong, i also know very little about licensing laws.

Thanks all, ill maybe leave the laptop on its offical xp that's comes with. Don't really see the need to fork out another 70 odd. So the windows 7 keys that are for sale are cracks then? I'm shocked a noob like me would have paid for one thinking there all legit

External slimeline dvd works fine on the 311c

I'am using XP on Netbook Very good O/s , Windows 7 on 1st Main PC , Do you have a need to go for the windows 7 route for that machine if not you should not bother.
